Hey! I'm Bryt.

I'm a kid at heart with whimsical crazy arsed ideas to share.

Everybody loves food (especially the super yummy kind), so when I was told I had celiac, visions of sugar-plums dancing in my head, morphed into shapeless, flat, concrete-textured bread… at least for a while there.

 

My background in design encouraged me to try making these sacrilegious food monstrosities beautiful by decorating them. It was a bit like dressing up brussel sprouts in thick pink icing. Who was I kidding?

 

Eventually, I realised they could taste good too! And so, I started enjoying the world of super yummy gluten free cooking. The recipes on my blog are gluten free – consisting of both my own and altered from others blogs and websites.

 

I come at food from a design point of view. While taste is obviously important, I prefer not to work my gag reflex, my head first and foremost dreams up what the final 'shot' will look like. My over enthusiasm for Disney, pirates, Halloween and any reason to celebrate, have been poured into my cooking, and I experiment with various themes like a 5-year-old with unlimited finger paint.

You can imagine the aftermath…

I moved to Australia at a young age, 14 years ago, but the maple syrup in my blood is strong. My Canadian recipes are my way of expressing my Canuck heritage without the lumber-jack getup (warning: this fashion may be expressed on occasion.)

 

I’m terrible at introducing myself, so I asked my sister to describe me. This is the response I got.

“Canuck Little-One whose cooking will land you in foodaholics anonymous.”
